Clough-NGER Reporting Requirements
Project details
Client: Impact Environmental
Location: Lotus Creek Wind Farm
Industry: Renewables
Business Services Provided: Lotus Creek Wind Farm Protected Plant and Targeted Weed Survey
Summary
In December 2024 Cowie undertook Protected Plant and Targeted Weed surveys along the proposed transmission line of Lotus Creek Wind Farm for Impact Environmental in preparation for clearing commencing early 2025. Cowie undertook a targeted threatened flora survey as part of the pre-clearance survey including but not limited to Cycad terryana and Sannantha brachypoda. Furthermore, locations of targeted weeds identified in the disturbance footprint were recorded as individuals and/or as polygon clusters. For all identified targeted weed species, a Weed Treatment Plan was developed and provided as part of the Pre-clearance Survey Report that outlined a proposed treatment schedule and control methodology. Targeted weed species included:
- Lantana camara (Lantana).
- Opuntia stricta (Common Prickly Pear).
- Opuntia tomentosa (Velvety Tree Pear).
- Opuntia streptacantha (Westwood Pear).
The Pre-clearance Survey Report included the following:
- The survey methodology specific to each parameter.
- Outcomes of the field survey including georeferenced photographs.
- Detailed mapping showing:
- Locations of each parameter.
- Vegetation clearing boundaries and identified/determined exclusion zones/ no-go zones.
- Recommendations on any further management measures required during vegetation clearing activities.
- Provision of Spatial Data.
