Adelong Gold Mine Operation Environmental Due Diligence and Approvals Pathway.



Cowie undertook a mine operation environmental due diligence for the purpose of summarizing the current valid approvals, licenses, and any additional requirements necessary to meet Great Divide Mining Ltd’s (GDM’s) standards for the future operation of the Adelong Gold Mine Project, currently owned by Challenger Mines Pty Ltd (a 100% owned subsidiary of Adelong Gold Limited, ASX:ADG), and subject to GDM’s buy-in and formation of the Adelong Venture. GDM were investigating the potential to enable the re-start of Adelong Gold Mine in NSW, as part of GDM due diligence an assessment of the environmental requirements was needed. Cowie undertook a due diligence of the environmental and approvals for the Mine to identify potential data gaps and approval requirements, within the information supplied in the ADG Dataroom.

NSW Development Consent
NSW Mining Lease
NSW Environmental Protection License
NSW Water Access License
NSW Water Supply Work Approvals
NSW Water Supply Use Approval
NSW Water Pollution Environmental Protection License
Occupation Certificates for all buildings (administration buildings, etc.)
NSW Roads Permits
NSW Blasting Explosives Users License
NSW Radiation Users License
NSW Radiation Management License
This role was responsible for overseeing the project management and outcomes, as well as directing workflow. They provided expert technical advice and reviewed all data and reports.
This role was to support the associate environmental scientist by reviewing documentation provided by the client, preparing summaries of findings and drafting the due diligence report.
Cowie gained valuable experience in applying legislation and navigating approvals pathways to take an existing non-operating mine from care and maintenance back to production.
