The Southwest Pipeline is a State-government-funded water infrastructure project involving the construction of a 25 kilometre pipeline and new water treatment plant ensuring a reliable long term water supply for the Beaudesert and developments in the Scenic Rim region.Cowie supplies a full-time Environmental Project Officer who provides assurance services and expert advice to the client for the project. Cowieprovides a significant contribution to the project ensuring sound environmental management practices on site, legislative compliance, and minimisation of potential environmental impacts contractors throughout project delivery.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Environmental Project Officer

The Environmental Project Officer provides an important contribution to the delivery of the Southwest Pipeline Project. Responsibilities include environmental monitoring and reporting, conducting HSE audits and assurance activities to ensure contractor’s compliance with environmental management plans, investigating and reporting environmental incidents and complaints onsite to the project manager and other internal stakeholders and offering expert environmental advice to the on project requirements.Cowie also acted as cultural heritage liaison, providing coordination between traditional owners and contractors and reporting of cultural heritage matters to Seqwater’s Cultural Heritage Consultants
